What Makes SoftSilver Sheets So Special? 

The SoftSilver Grounding Sheets from Groundology are the result of years of product development. Woven entirely from ultra-fine silver thread to make them highly conductive, they are a comfortable and effective way to ground yourself at home. Like all indoor earthing products, the SoftSilver Sheet has an earthing connection point woven onto the sheet and the SoftSilver Sheet Kits include an earthing cord and earthing plug to connect the sheet to a grounded wall socket. When you have contact with the SoftSilver Sheet, you will benefit from the transfer of negatively-charged electrons from the Earth and your body will be grounded or earthed.

SoftSilver Sheets as EMF Protection

As well as a being an effective conductor, silver also has shielding properties against high frequency electromagnetic frequencies, also known as electromagnetic radiation, EMF Radiation or radio frequencies. These frequencies are emitted from a wide range of 'smart' or wireless technologies and devices including, but certainly not limited to, the following:

• Laptops and tablets
• Mobile phone towers

More and more research suggests that prolonged exposure to high frequency EMF - or EMF Radiation - might be detrimental to our health. The ultra-fine silver thread in the SoftSilver Sheets acts as a shielding barrier against this type of EMF and offers a practical way for us to reduce our EMF exposure at home. 

It should also be noted that grounding using any conductive grounding product also helps to greatly reduce the effects of low frequency EMFs, such as the electrical fields from household electrical appliances and mains electricity. 

How to Use a SoftSilver Sheet

To use a SoftSilver Sheet for grounding purposes, you must connect an earthing cord and plug to the connection port of the sheet and then plug it into a grounded wall socket. The outlets in most Australian homes will be grounded/earthed as this has been standard building code for many years now. However, if you are unsure and you need to check that your wall socket is grounded, you will need to do a simple check with a Power Outlet Tester.

Once you know that your wall socket is grounded, simply connect one end of the earthing cord to the sheet and insert the other end into the earthing plug. The plug then plugs into your grounded wall socket. There is no need to switch on the wall socket as there is no electricity being conducted while you are grounding. 

For you to receive the transfer of electrons and to ground yourself, you must have contact with the sheet. Direct skin contact is always best, but you can also use a 100% cotton, linen or bamboo sheet between you and the SoftSilver sheet and you will still be grounded. 

You can make contact by placing the SoftSilver Sheet on to your bed, or chosen surface, and lie or sit on the sheet. Alternatively, you can make contact by placing the SoftSilver Sheet on top of you. Wherever you place it, just be sure to secure the earthing cord to avoid any trip or tangle hazards. 

To use the SoftSilver Sheet as EMF protection, there is no need to connect the earthing cord and plug. This is for grounding purposes only. Simply place the SoftSilver Sheet over you to provide EMF shielding protection for your body. 

Can I Use the SoftSilver Sheet for Grounding and EMF Protection at the same time? 

Absolutely. The best way to do this is to connect the SoftSilver Sheet to the wall socket with the earthing cord and plug provided (being sure to secure the cord out of the way to avoid trip or tangle hazards) and then place the SoftSilver Sheet on top of you. That way, the SoftSilver Sheet can act as an EMF shield for your body while also transferring the beneficial electrons from the Earth into your body.

Looking After Your SoftSilver Sheet

To get the best out of your SoftSilver Sheet it is important to follow the care instructions below carefully. You should wash the SoftSilver Sheet regularly to strip the silver surface of a build up of body sweat and natural skin oils. This helps to prevent the silver from tarnishing and losing its conductive properties. 

Please note that, due to the nature of silver, the SoftSilver Sheets may show signs of discolouration after long-term use and washing. This does not affect the functionality of the product and is simply the nature of the material. 

DO:

•     Wash every week or two
•     Wash in a washing machine with warm water (40°C / 105°F)
•     Use a liquid laundry detergent (see below for ingredients to avoid)
•     Line dry or dry in a dryer on low (up to 65°C / 150°F)
•     Can be ironed on a low heat if desired

DON'T

•     Don't wash with bleach
•     Don't wash with fabric softeners
•     Don't use whitening detergents, oxi-detergents
•     Don't use detergents with strong fragrances (either chemical or essential oil based)
•     Don't use dryer sheet fabric softeners
•     Don't dry clean

Bleach, lotions and oils can tarnish the silver, rendering it non-conductive.  Fabric softener builds up on the silver and will eventually ruin its conductive properties.  Please also check and clean the detergent drawer of your washing machine for residues of other detergents, since many detergents (particularly powders) contain whitening agents which will harm the silver, even in small quantities.

It is advised to wait at least one hour after applying oils or lotions to the skin to make contact with your SoftSilver Sheet.
